Keep cutting waste and reserve separate
Compare the material loss of different grids and tile sizes. Waste comes from the cuts. Reserve is an additional allowance you choose, not measured cutting waste.

Same L-shaped room and inputs as the homepage example: 15.84 m², 60 × 60 cm, 3 mm joints and a 20 cm grid offset. Reuse uses a 3 mm kerf, at least 8 cm offcuts and one visible cut edge per piece. These savings apply to this plan; other rooms give different results.
